ep. 1 - Doug Delong. Okayama, Japan

Welcome to the first episode of the "Over There" Podcast! My name is Nick Lohr and I want to thank you for listening. For the first interview, I spoke with Doug Delong. Doug is an American expatriate living in Japan since the early 1990's. He's a writer, blogger, podcaster, and teacher.

His podcast, Planet Japan is a hilarious news show he co-hosts with fellow expat, Jennifer Eda. I strongly urge everyone to check it out. It's currently available in the iTunes Store. In addition to that, Doug contributes to his blog The Preacher & The Skeptic where he and a conservative preacher debate religious issues. It's a fascinating read and they encourage everyone to come join the discussion!

In the first episode of "Over There" Doug and I discuss his life in Japan, the differences between Japanese & American politics, why you can't get good Mexican food over there, as well as no matter where you go you still carry a piece of your home country with you. Enjoy!
